Early Detection of Cancer
Dr. Louise Wang, MD, MSCE
Principal Investigator
Assistant Professor of Medicine at Yale University
Staff Gastroenterologist at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System
I am an Assistant Professor in the Division of Digestive Diseases at Yale and gastroenterologist at the VA Connecticut. My research is focused on early detection of pancreatic cancer and precursor lesions. I use AI, epidemiology, and bioinformatics methods to study the interaction of clinical, environmental, and genetic risk factors and their impact on cancer risk, linking electronic health records with population level biobanks.
Scientific Vision
The goal of my research program is to develop precision medicine tools that will inform personalized risk for pancreatic cancer and other GI cancers by integrating epidemiology, human genetics, and AI tools for risk prediction. These approaches will help us improve early detection for pancreatic cancer and understand shared risk factors for multicancer early detection.
